Our services could even be FREE dependent upon specific circumstances,
Compared to court proceedings, reaching a settlement via mediation is much cheaper.
Following a FREE initial assessment of your individual case, we can discuss potential costs with you.
Prices start from £95 per hour per party for a remotely facilitated session, dependent upon the complexity of the issue.
More Complex Issues
As you would expect, more complex cases usually take more time to resolve and so cost more. Not withstanding that, our usual fees are (per party):
£110.00 for 1 hour (usually remote)
£350.00 for half a day
£600.00 for a full day
Mediator preparation time is included in these costs.
Mediation Venues - your decision
For face to face mediation sessions, we would normally ask that you provide a venue at your cost.
This should include three rooms:
1): one for each party where we can conduct private sessions.
2): a general meeting room for joint sessions - it's normal to include refreshment facilities (tea/coffee/water/etc. as a minimum) - for full-day session you may choose to provide lunch.
Where the meeting rooms are to be located should be agreed with the other party - it is suggested that you choose a neutral venue.
Oxleymediation can provide a venue relatively local to you, again at your cost Please note that:
1): venue costs are not included in our fees.
2): Travel and Expenses
3): Dependent upon where the mediation is to take place, we may ask you to reimburse travel and subsistence expenses for our mediator.
This can be discussed when reviewing your case. Distance need not preclude Oxleymediation from taking on your case.
Normally our mediator is happy to travel up to one and a half hours travel time to get to your venue.
CMC Fixed Fee Mediation Scheme
Oxleymediation subscribes to the CMC Fixed Fee Mediation Scheme (FFMS)
The CMC FFMS enables parties to a dispute of a value of under £50,000 the option to employ a mediator at a reasonable rate, and Oxleymediation has signed up to that scheme. The scheme does not apply to all types of dispute, however you will be advised if yours does. You can search for other mediators who have signed up to the scheme by visiting the CMC website.
Once again, geographical location and complexity of the case will determine whether the mediation will be held in person or online/by telephone. There is a presumption, however, that mediations of 2 hours or less will be conducted online/by telephone.
Both parties need to agree to mediate, and it is helpful if they have agreed this before enquiring about mediation.

Consumer Disputes
The scheme is not intended to be used for consumer disputes concerning the sale of goods and services where the trader is required to provide the consumer with the name and website address of an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution body.
